Tuesday, November 4th – Election Day

FAST FACTS:
Election Day in the United States is the day set by law for the selection of public officials by popular ballot. For federal offices, it occurs on the Tuesday following the first Monday of November (so the earliest possible date is November 2 and the latest November 8). Presidential elections are held every four years and this year is one of them. Elections to the House of Representatives and the Senate are held every two years. Many state and local government offices are also elected on Election Day as a matter of convenience and cost saving; however, a handful of states hold elections for state offices during odd numbered, off years. This varies according to state and local laws. Don't forget to get out and vote for who you feel will do the best job for your Country. It's your right.

November 11th, Veteran's Day

Veterans Day is an American holiday honoring military veterans for both Federal and State in all states. It is not a mandatory holiday for private industry. Veteran, orginally meaning a person of long experience or skill was derived from the latin term veteranus. After the American Revolution the word veteran came to be associated specifically with former soldier of old age who had fought for independence. As time went on veteran was used to describe any former member of the armed forces or a person who had served in a branch of the military.

November 27th, Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving Thanksgiving, or Thanksgiving Day (Action de Grace in Canada), is a traditional North American holiday, which is a form of harvest festival. The date and whereabouts of the first Thanksgiving celebration is a topic of modest contention, though the earliest attested Thanksgiving celebration was on September 8, 1565 in what is now Saint Augustine, Florida. Despite scholarly research to the contrary, the traditional "first Thanksgiving" is venerated as having occurred at the site of Plymouth Plantation, in 1621 in Plymouth, Massachusetts. Today, Thanksgiving is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November in the United States and on the second Monday of October in Canada. Most US companies close on both Thursday and the Friday following the Holiday.
